๐๐ก ๐ฃ๐๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ฆ: The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) of Tinambac convened today, November 7, 2025, at the Office of the Mayor for an emergency meeting in preparation for Tropical Cyclone Uwan.
The meeting was initiated and presided over by Municipal Mayor and MDRRMC Chairman Edward Albert โBobitโ P. Prades, together with LDRRMO III Romil Estolano RN, who jointly led the council in reinforcing preparedness and coordination efforts to ensure the safety and protection of every Tinambaqueรฑo.
During the meeting, the council reviewed the latest weather updates and advisories from DOST-PAGASA and conducted a Pre-Disaster Risk Assessment (PDRA) to identify vulnerable areas, assess potential hazards, and establish proactive response measures to lessen the impacts of the approaching cyclone.
The discussion also highlighted the preparedness and response operations led by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), in close coordination with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), General Services Office (GSO), and other vital departments of the Local Government Unit of Tinambac.
Partner agenciesโthe Bureau of Fire Protection – Tinambac Fire Station, the Philippine Army, the Philippine National Police- Tinambac Police Station, and the Department of Education (DepEd)โwere also present and shared their respective contingency plans to ensure readiness in safeguarding lives, properties, and critical facilities within the municipality.
Under the strong leadership of Municipal Mayor and MDRRMC Chairman Bobit Prades, the council reaffirmed its commitment to effective communication, efficient resource mobilization, and active community engagementโkey strategies in strengthening Tinambacโs disaster preparedness and resilience.
As Tropical Cyclone Uwan approaches, the Local Government Unit of Tinambac stands firm in its mission to protect, prepare, and serve its people, proving that resilience is strongest when the community stands as one.
