The Municipal Nutrition Office of the Local Government Unit of Tinambac successfully conducted an informative orientation on October 30, 2025, aimed at launching the Buntis Tracking Team. This initiative is designed to systematically monitor and support the health of pregnant women in the municipality. The orientation saw participation from key community figures including Barangay Captains, Kagawad on Health, Barangay Nutrition Scholars, Barangay Health Workers, leaders of the 4Ps (Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program), members of the Parish Pastoral Council, Barangay Public Safety Officers, and Chairpersons of the Sangguniang Kabataan.
Municipal Health Officer Dr. John Paul E. Reazon, MD, opened the orientation by expressing heartfelt gratitude to all participants for their commitment to maternal health in the community. He emphasized the significance of collaboration among various stakeholders in enhancing the health services available to pregnant women.
Sir Michael John Prades, RN, the Hospital Administrator of Tinambac Municipal Hospital, provided an overview of the vital services offered at the hospital specifically for expectant mothers, including prenatal care, nutritional counseling, and emergency services. He outlined the referral pathways from the barangays to ensure that women receive timely medical attention.
Hon. Giuseppe P. Prades, Chairman of the Committee on Health and Nutrition, was also in attendance and highlighted the role of community programs in safeguarding the health of pregnant women and their families. He reinforced the need for local governance and community organizations to work hand in hand in this endeavor.
Ma’am Haidee Javier, RN, Public Health Nurse III, elaborated on the Motherhood Program, detailing its objectives and the various support systems in place for expectant mothers throughout their pregnancy journey. This was followed by a presentation from the Municipal Nutrition Action Officer outlining the structure and responsibilities of the newly formed Buntis Tracking Team.
Under the proactive leadership of Municipal Mayor Edward Albert “Bobit” P. Prades, the Local Government Unit of Tinambac is wholeheartedly committed to supporting the Buntis Tracking Team initiative, which aims to enhance the well-being of all pregnant women within the municipality and ensure they receive the care they need for a healthy pregnancy and delivery.
